I spoke to Cheryl at lunch and she was in the process of blogging you. Mom wanted to know what I was making for dinner. I had prepared homemade vegetable soup a week ago so I thought it appropriate to respond by borrowing a little something from your blog. I replied, Same Same! Although I believe we will be getting pizza. I absolutely loved reading with Cheryl this morning and the photos were fanastic. After reading and thinking about the different places you have visited and seen some ruins being restored and others that have been left as is that it would be very hard to decide which to restore and which not to restore. Some things are just more impressive when left as is if they are located in out of the way areas or heavily wooded hill country. I hope you are bringing back 2 of the metal pans the small children were paddling on the river for me to make a catamaran. You may want to purchase a little extra silk for the sails. That was a very cute photo of the boy paddling his pan. You both have certainly become well versed in making deals and getting a taxi when you want it. Remember when your high school journalism class attended the seminar at Columbia in New York and I couldn't get a taxi to stop? It was late in the evening and there was a cutting wind and snow blowing so hard it felt like little pellets hitting your face. Well I won't have to worry about that happening again as long as I always travel with the two of you. I am getting more and more excited as each day draws closer to your arrival home. By the way did I mention you might want to do some shopping while you are out and about? If not then this is something you may want to consider as there are only a few stops left to enjoy the art of purchasing shoes. Did I say shoes? On T.V. this morning there was a show doing a remodel on a ladies home and she had to get rid of a very large collection of clothing and shoes before the project could start. After counting there were over 340 pairs of shoes and you can imagine how many dresses and other clothing. They were not run of the mill items and instead most everything she had was on the line of gucci boots and I forgot to mention I think about 170 designer purses. So don't forget to SHOP SHOP and you can buy some things that are Same Same!! You know I am a big help and I hear that there are alot of great deals in Japan on technology items, digital cameras, computers, memory sticks, Bose speakers, motor bikes, instruments, and other neat things for dad oops! cloths, shoes, sorry I kind of got off track there. Keep having a great time and get some rest, try a little hot tea with honey and lemon, it will make your throat feel better. Hope you bounce back quick and don't let your sister get a sore throat. You can also put some lemon in your drinking water or wear a slice in your hair. Not really, sorry my mind is going again. I love you both and take care. Sweet Dreams hugs and kisses.

Well girls.... my computer is finally back in action. It has been in action for about a week but I have not had that much time to read your blogs... sorry :-( I have a lot of catching up to do. I got a postcard from you. Thanks for thinking of me. Hope your studies are coming well. Things here are VERY busy. Lots going on with work. Thinking about taking some classes so that I can go back to school to become a Physician Assistant. I got accepted to the local community college so I can fulfill my prerequisites and I will apply after that. Other than that, life is fine. I went to Nags Head, NC for the weekend. One of my friend's friend's mother owns one of those million dollar condos on the beach....WOW! was it nice. Good pics.. will show you when you get home. Going to miss you at Thanksgiving. Will take lots of pictures. It is going to be a full house. Miss you and love you. I will try to do better keeping up.... more comments later :-)

It is Tuesday evening here and around 10AM Wednesday your time. And before the day is over you will be returning to the ship. Therefore WELCOME BACK from your five day adventure. I have missed you and found it difficult to have no contact at all for such a long time. You must be exhausted as you anticipate only three days before arriving in Japan. At least you do not have any extended trips while you are there, I think. Please check your email for important questions. Love you and anxiously waiting for your wonderful descriptive blogs. Mom

When are we going to hear from you again? We are anxious to read about China and thought you would have posted by now. When we talked on Saturday morning, our time, you said you would have your new blog finished by our evening time. Just trying NOT to be worried about the lack of written communication at least compared to what we have shared with all your previous travels. We love you. Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving! Mom and Dad

Happy Thanksgiving Megan & Heather!

I loved your pictures from your visit to Cambodia and Viet Nam! It is still difficult for me to comprehend everything that you are being exposed to---sights, sounds, smells, etc. I am eagerly awaiting your return to Aberdeen and our full day of togetherness over pounds and pounds of chocolate!!
Joy ended up coming home early from school for her Thanksgiving break. We got a call from her on Sunday evening and she was suffering from a severe headache and fever. So, her devoted dad got in the car and zipped down to Chestertown to pick her up and bring her home. Then, she shared her germs with me (how sweet!) and we are both laying around, watching movies and taking meds. Have you both been pretty well since you've been gone? I hope so!
I can certainly identify with Joy's longing to be home when she didn't feel well. I guess there's some truth to the quote, "There's no place like home"!
So, will SAS put on a Thanksgiving feast for all of you? Turkey, cranberries and pumpkin pie?!
My family is actually going to be celebrating the holiday on Friday! I have a nephew who is flying in from Germany, another nephew flying in from Georgia and my niece and her husband making the trip from Utah. They will all be arriving on Thursday, which didn't allow enough time to have dinner that day! So...Rick and I will be traveling down to my sister, Linda's house in St. Mary's on Wed. night. We will help her all day on Thurs. to get ready for the influx of guests ( I think there will be about 35 of us). Dan & Kelly, Joy & Ryan (her boyfriend from C-Town) will arrive on Friday around 10 a.m. Dinner will be at 1:30 in the afternoon! It will be great fun to have all but one of the 13 cousins together again!
I hear that your family will be heading to O.C. for their celebration! I sure hope that your Mom & Dad can find some time to just RELAX! They have been working non-stop on the kitchen renovation (which looks a-ma-zing, by the way!) and really need some down time. I'm sure the change of scenery will do them well!
I'm looking forward to the rest of your blogs, girls. It's hard to believe that you are almost done with your semester. Take care of each other!
With love,
Miss Nan

It was soothing medicine to talk to you for such a long time last night especially without the delay we have when calling ship to shore and a relief to solve the mystery of the lack of recent blogs. So for any of you faithful readers who might get down this far on the posted comments the reason for our missing those wonderful adventurous journals is because the signals were down on the ship while in Japan. The reason for this had something to do with the high mountains surrounding the city where they were docked. Anyway the girls wanted everyone to be reassured that once they were underway things would return to normal, I hope. Seven days at sea now until Hawaii with studying, finals and an Ambassador's Ball should keep you pretty busy. Dad and I look forward to lots and lots of reading after Thanksgiving. We love you and will think about you all the time over the holiday. You have a nice day too. Hope the holiday feast will taste good and try to relax a little, yeah right. Just 14 days now. We love you lots. Mom and Dad

Girls, I haven't talked to you in so long, but I've been reading and looking. You are coming home soon, and Cheryl and Joe are antsy. Our friends adopted a baby from China last March and that trip took them all over China's various provinces and their souvenirs were splendid. The cashmir and silks. I am anxious to see your silk jackets. They had dresses made for themselves and new child. Is Megan feeling better? Are we concerned? I am getting over a cold but felt much better during the HARRY POTTER movie last week! I remarked that it was the best, but my husband reminds me that I say that about each one. Nick, sends a thanks for his postcard! He was delightfully surprised. I shall be receiving The Lundy Fish next week and my own Windsor and Buck will be proper welcoming fish. (You shall be happy to hear that I have recently spent a day with your mother, spreading cheer and keeping her company - we watched Finding Neverland and sobbed like babies. Tears were dripping off of my chin and leaving salt spots on my sweater.) Love to you both, be well and see you SOON!!
